VIRTUAL LABORATORY
The Aim of developing the virtual laboratory has been to provide for,
- an interactive "virtual immersive reality" environment.
- A software tool kit that allows simulation of the physical environment.
- one fundamental force - Gravity.
This had been necessitated after realizing that effective science learning comes from experimentation and taking into consideration the rural setup, we realized that today even most of urban the urban schools lack proper laboratory infrastructure. So it was imperative that we provide for an environment that took care of all this in a simplified and cost effective manner. Hence the concept of the virtual laboratory.
The major advantages of the Virtual Laboratory would be,
- Least physical resources required
- Flexibility of space , time and resources.
- Experimenting in a lot of ways
- No recurring costs…..And many more
The Virtual Laboratory is divided into two sections namely
- Demo library
– A collection of pre-set experiments
– Promote concept learning through interactive simulations
o based on real-life experience
- Developing environment :
– Tool to create new experiments
– Promote learning through enquiry
– Reusable Domain Objects (RDO) toolbox
o experimental apparatus
– Graphical interface with drag & drop facility for object handling
