Computer Aided Structural Engineering is an innovative programme. Students join this program with a background in civil engineering. The focus of this programme is on two aspects; viz. Structural Engineering and related IT tools. 

Each Building in itself is unique. It requires expertise for proper planning, design and execution. How the structural member behave for the given static and dynamic loads? How load is transmitted from structure to ground requires considerable insight into structural behavior. The course provides an in depth study of Structural Analysis and Design with emphasis on numerical analysis and use of computers. Structural response to earthquake and other time varying effects are covered in detail.

Application of IT tools requires creativity, a logical mind and analytical ability. The course provides an excellent grounding in the fundamentals of related IT tools. It engages in a comprehensive study of computer science subjects such as databases, graphics, networks etc. This helps the students to confidently address the challenges related to effective application of IT tools in various phases and components of the Construction Industry.
