IIIT-H has been ranked Top 5 in India, by Dataquest’s Top Tech Schools Survey 2011. Last year too, IIIT-H was ranked at Top 5 in the country.

Top 1 in placement
While IIIT-H's 2010 passed-out batch's placement was ranked Top 3 in India, the placement for 2011 graduated batch has been ranked Top 1, ahead of the IITs.

This is the first time any T-school in India has been assessed ahead of the IITs on placement.

In Bachelor’s CSE Placement 2011, IIIT-H topped all tech schools in India, on three parameters.
Average salary –           Rs.10 lac (overall) and Rs.9.1 lac (domestic) 
Lowest compensation – Rs.5.5 lac; the lowest offers were just two.
Second lowest salary – Rs.6 lac; the second lowest offers were 6.
